A sculptural and dramatic pair that photographs beautifully. These oversized stud earrings feature a twisted knot or ribbon-fold structure in gold-tone metal, with the outer surface covered in a cream and black marbled enamel pattern — fluid, swirling brushstrokes that give each earring an almost painterly quality. The interior is hollow polished gold-tone, and the earrings fasten with a post and butterfly back. The scale and form are very characteristic of late 80s statement jewelry.
These show visible vintage wear — the enamel surface has areas of gold showing through where the marbling has worn or lifted, most visible on closer inspection and photographed clearly.
